Potty Training & Behaviour Management
Over the past 15 years I have counseled terminally ill patience and their families, I have worked with children diagnosed with PDD and ADHD and I have facilitated community programs aimed at helping children with anger issues and anxiety cope with their feelings. Most recently, in response to my own parenting journey, I dedicated my time and energy into developing KIDU which provides support services and products to parents.
I counsel parents and families today because I believe with all my heart that we parents are raising the next generation and we need to be honoured and supported as we travel on this journey. Our children’s future rests in our ability and willingness to confront our baggage and grow deep in our roots so that our children can begin on solid ground.
Through my professional experience and personal belief in human nature I have come to adopt an analytical, multi-faceted therapeutic approach. I utilize family systems theory, cognitive-behaviour therapy and spirituality. My specialties include trauma, addiction, codependency, toilet and sleep training and behavioural issues in children.
Education: Honours Psychology degree from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Science degree in Family Dynamics and Child Development from the University of Guelph. I am also a member of the OACCPP and recipient of the Reader’s Choice Award 2015.
