About Daphne

I am Daphne , a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with certification in Maternal Newborn and Paediatric nursing. As a paediatric nurse, I have helped dozens of families reach their breastfeeding goals through a variety of challenging circumstances, including jaundice, failure to thrive and sepsis, just to name a
few.
As a lactation consultant, I have a special interest in breastfeeding mothers in their early post partum phase when the stress of becoming a mom and the breastfeeding experience is all new. I work extensively with families experiencing low milk supply, preparing for the next baby, and providing services to women and infants facing a variety of breastfeeding challenges. I work collaboratively with the family's health care team to ensure consistency and continuity of care. I believe breastfeeding is a mother-baby dance that needs to be nurtured with love, patience and accessibility but I also believe that the role of dads and siblings in the breastfeeding experience is equally important. I work together with the family to incorporate all members to reach their breastfeeding goals.
I provide home lactation support services in the Orangeville, Caledon and Brampton
areas, however, will travel outside of these areas for families experiencing
breastfeeding difficulties.

Caitlin has worked with many mother baby dyads in both the hospital/ clinical setting and in the comforts of mothers' home. She has been an instructor at the Mohawk College Breastfeeding Program. Caitlin aims to work with families to achieve their personal breastfeeding goals.
Her passion for helping mothers breastfeed, develop with the birth of her first son who was in the special care nursery. It was through this experience that Caitlin wanted to help other mothers have successful breastfeeding relationships.
Caitlin is a mother to 3 little boys and 2 wonderful step children. Her past work experience as an elementary shcool teacher has provided her with the foundation for her new loved career as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
