Our prenatal educators are experienced professionals who lead evidence-based prenatal classes designed to prepare families for pregnancy, labour, birth, and early parenthood. Each educator brings clinical knowledge, teaching expertise, and compassionate support to help parents feel confident and informed.

 

Meet Julie-Anne Mauno

RSW, RPNSW

Julie-Anne brings over 24 years of experience supporting perinatal clients throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. She is a Registered Perinatal Support Worker (PNSW), a faculty member in the PNSW program, and a facilitator with the Home Hospice Association’s Infant and Pregnancy Loss Doula program. Her work also includes facilitating postpartum mood disorder groups as well as infant and pregnancy loss support groups. In addition, she is a perinatal educator and a Registered Social Worker further strengthening her holistic approach to family care.

She lives and works on Treaty 9 territory, the ancestral and contemporary lands of the Anishinaabe (Apitipi Anicinapek Nation). She is Franco-Ontarian and a mother to seven children, bringing both professional expertise and lived experience to her work with families.

She is deeply committed to improving perinatal outcomes, empowering clients, and fostering confidence and self-determination. Beyond direct client care, she is passionate about supporting other perinatal professionals through workshops and professional circles, helping sustain this important work without compromising personal well-being. Her practice is grounded in personal growth, self-reflection, decolonization, trauma-informed care, and anti-oppressive principles, ensuring inclusive, respectful, and compassionate support for all families.

Meet Terri Rout

RPNSW, PSW

Terri is a registered perinatal support worker, childbirth educator, and community waterbirth educator with over a decade of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. A former Personal Support Worker (PSW), Terri made a purposeful career shift into birth work following the birth of her first grandchild, an experience that ignited a deep commitment to family-centred, evidence-based care.

Terri leads national advocacy, education, and safety initiatives to advance informed choice and access to waterbirth across Canada. She is actively involved in research projects focused on maternal and neonatal outcomes, collaborates with clinicians and educators, and is recognized for her compassionate approach, practical expertise, and dedication to strengthening perinatal care systems for families and providers alike.

Meet Laura Monaco

RPNSW

Laura is a mother of two boys, a school teacher, and a registered Perinatal Support Worker (PNSW). The birth of her second son ignited her passion for perinatal support and set her on a meaningful journey to serve families during one of life’s most transformative stages.

Laura specializes in collaborating with, educating, and supporting women, their partners, and families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. She brings warmth, expertise, and compassionate, non-judgmental care to every interaction. Her approach combines practical guidance, personalized support, emotional encouragement, and evidence-based information to foster confidence, empowerment, and self-advocacy.

Dedicated to truly listening, Laura tailors her support to meet the unique needs of each parent and family. She is committed to ensuring clients feel informed, supported, and empowered as they navigate early pregnancy and parenthood. With a positive mindset and a wealth of knowledge, Laura helps families build trust in their own strengths and confidently embrace the journey of adjustment.

Her passion is for every parent to feel confident, informed, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and as they fully step into the incredible journey of parenthood.
